ORIGO HOUSE is my small ceramics studio based in South Somerset. There are two threads to my business. My commission based work centres around children’s profiles - you read more about my process under ‘Ceramics.’ Alongside this I hand-build one-off pieces of homeware, glazing them in ever more colourful hues. Handbuilding as a method of making is completely magical and free from constraints; morphing a piece of solid clay into an object of my imagining using just my hands and a few simple tools is pure joy. The result is often gloriously irregular, with heaps of evidence of the maker’s hand. My homewares are available to buy in relatively regular drops announced via my newsletter before they hit Instagram.
