ORIGO HOUSE is my small ceramics studio based in South Somerset. There are two threads to the business: my commission-based work centres around children’s profiles - you can read more about my process HERE; and alongside this I hand-build one-off pieces of homeware, which get ever bigger and more colourful. I fell in love with hand-building in my early pottery classes, drawn to the freedom and irregularity of it versus the discipline and repetition of the wheel. Pieces can emerge gradually, and rarely end up as they were initially conceived. No two are the same, imperfections are aplenty, but I hope each carries the inimitable energy of something made by hand, with care.
